We were so fortunate to be one of the first to stay at DeerRidge, one of the three resorts by Brophy. I stayed at RiverView, which was amazing. I've stayed at LakeView which was also Fabulous. We knew all the estates by Brophy would be great. We were fortunate enough to have one of the first peeks and stay at their third resort, DeerRidge. Our Family had our Grand Fathers 78th Birthday Party and we were looking for a place close to Manhattan, It was only 18 in our group; but it was an experience of a lifetime. The dinning room which seats up to 40 was Chic and elegant. The kitchen was first class with marble counters and a 10 burner Garland Stove. We all enjoyed having wine in the luxurious lounge/bar. Afterwards, we went outside to the fire pit to smoke cigars and enjoy quality family time overlooking the Delaware River at sunset. Each room was decorated down to every last minute detail. We had the pleasure to meet Gale, the owner; with her staff. Who welcomed us like we were family. We plan on returning in the summer, when the resort is fully completed with our large family. We can not wait to see the completion of DeerRidge so the rest of our Family of 40 can sleep in luxury. They are all fighting for the new extension of the cowboy and Indian rooms of another diversification by Gale Brophy.

I have to say, there are few times in my life that I have been at a loss for being able to describe something. This is one of those times. From the moment we drove onto the property, it felt as though we had entered our own private oasis. I knew right away that this had been the find of a lifetime. As we entered the home, or should I say just one section of the home, my breath was taken away. The attention to detail within this property was immediately obvious. You can just tell when someone has taken the time to insure that you would feel at home. The property is comprised of really 3 different units, but all with a very easy and accessible connectivity. This was perfect for our group as it allowed for privacy, but also the common areas were very large and accommodating. The rooms that had the private outside entrances were very nice for private couples to use. The outdoor amenities were incredible. Fire pits, hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking. You name it, it was available. The bar in this property was like a private VIP lounge for the stars. The entire trip we all just felt as though we were royalty. We will be booking another trip straight away, as we know this gem will book up very quickly. My suggestion is get in before its sold out for good. Once the word is out, you will have to be on a waiting list I can promise that. This property will exceed all your expectations. We did take advantage of the additional services that are provided with housekeeping and transportation services. This is a 6 star property all day long.

We were so happy to be one of the first guests at Deer Ridge. We had a wonderful time with our family of 12 - ranging in age from 2 to 40. The views were spectacular with the fall foliage in full bloom. The new rooms were great and were exactly as depicted in the pictures. As promised, there was no construction during our stay. Cooking s'mores over the fire pit, family time in the magnificent bar and the highly functional kitchen and dining room all added to our wonderful stay. I look forward to returning with a larger group of 40 when Deer Ridge is completed.

We stayed at Deer Ridge with out 11 friends and family and though they were making a large expansion. Our family enjoyed hiking, going to their other resort that has it's own area for Deer Ridge on the lake. We enjoyed fishing and boating. They have a magnificent river that is clear as day. Barbecuing and fire pits were beautiful. The staff was so accommodating during our stay. It is a great operation for our needs.

My fiance' and I spent a long weekend at DeerRidge and need to write a review to let anyone interested in coming here that it was a MOST magical experience!! Even though the place had a few construction tweaks going on, Gail, the owner, was kind enough to make sure that during our stay, it seemed as if we were truly all alone--no workers, no interruptions, only kindness of staff, if we needed anything! We thoroughly enjoyed the amenities and everything was "just right" that we didn't even have to LEAVE the property. We will most definitely be back, sooner than later, to be sure!

Gale and her husband are extremely nice people who respect your privacy. Their home is absolutely fantastic and I am so glad they let other people enjoy it. Built a fire on Saturday while taking in the beautiful scenery. Watched football in the entertainment lodge. 10/10 weekend. Highly recommend.

Beautiful grounds, tons of personality, friendly service. We've been there twice now, and will absolutely keep coming in every year. Our group of 35 includes people driving all the way from toronto just to enjoy the property. And we come in november. The place was already wonderful and near perfect when we went last year, and was even better this past weekend.

We rented out the Riverview estate for a company retreat for one night in October. The houses have all the amenities you could possibly need, and a very helpful, quick to respond staff. The houses were beautiful, comfortable, and spacious. The grounds are extremely beautiful (especially with the leaves changing in Oct!). The owner, Gale met us on our second day and was incredibly warm and inviting. Everyone had a fantastic time! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a group getaway, and would definitely consider staying again next year!

Gale's Riverview property is absolutely fantastic - beautiful, fun, and comfortable - perfect for people who love to chill as well as those who love to be active. As many of the reviews already state, the pictures can't do it justice. Each of the three buildings has its own character and each has its own living room, kitchen, dining area and fire pit. It literally couldn't be more comfortable and convenient for a good sized family or group retreat. The property is a short walk from a gorgeous river where you can hike, fly fish or kayak. I'm sure the property is great fun in the summer, and since its a warm country log cabin with fireplaces it is awesome in the fall and winter. Gale and her team are really warm hosts and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our stay. We are grateful we chose Riverview estate for our retreat and I'm sure you will be too.

We stayed for a long weekend at the end of August. The property is lovely, with lots of natural beauty surrounding the area. We ranged in age from seniors to infants, with every age in-between, and there was something for everyone. The large screen TV sets were much appreciated by the weekend sports fans. The children loved the pool and spacious grounds to run and play on. There were nature walks and fishing expeditions. The kitchens were large enough to accommodate several people preparing dinners. The outdoor grills and fire pits came in very handy for BBQ and s'mores. Kristen was very responsive in setting up the contract and open to any questions and suggestions. Any issues that did arise were handled in a prompt and professional manner. I would highly recommend this estate for large family gatherings.

My family is so completely blown away by the beauty, well kept facilities, setting, amenities, and over the top around the clock service the Riverview staff offers. We planned our "cousins club" with 24++ adults and 9 kids (infant to age 7) to spend time together and couldn't be more pleased with the outcome! Gale Brophy, the owner is by far the best ... always available and looking to make your stay perfect. Kristen, the property manager is on top of ever question you have and able to answer it in full detail. Lots of idiosyncrasies to work with and Riverview handled all of them with charm! I hope to have the pleasure of returning to the stunning beauty! We have lots of amazing memories to last a lifetime ---THANK YOU GALE FOR EVERYTHING!

For the past three summers, my siblings and I have brought our families to Riverview Estates for a weeklong family reunion. The three buildings provide ample kitchen, living area, bedrooms and bathrooms so all have their privacy and personal space, yet we are easily able to congregate when we want to be together. The kitchens are well stocked for preparation of gourmet meals should that be your interest. If it is, I recommend picking up groceries on your way in because the closest large and full service supermarket is an hour away in Binghampton. Hancock has a supermarket but its breadth of offerings is somewhat limited. Activities we have enjoyed while staying at Riverview include biking, canoeing, kayaking, and hiking in the expansive woods. The pool and hot tub are big hits and some of our party use the exercise equipment and sauna as well. Wi-Fi works in most locations so connectivity is not an issue. Multiple TVs have cable service thus you can plan a movie night and pile everyone onto the king bed in the master bedroom of the main house. If you haven't been to Woodstock, don't miss the opportunity to tour the museum which is quite impressive. Check out the concert schedule, we were able to see Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga perform together!

I have to say I looked for months to find the perfect place for my bachelor party. After spending the last three such parties for friends in Las Vegas, and spending thousands of dollars, I was committed to finding an affordable place within driving distance from New York City that could comfortably fit my large group of 24. I was done with the expensive pool parties of Vegas and wanted something different, something truly unique that my closest friends would always remember. When I read the description and saw the pictures of Riverview, I was confident I had found my perfect location. I spoke to Gale and Kristen over the phone before booking and they convinced me that this was indeed the right fit... and boy, were they right. The weekend we just spent up there was one of the greatest weekends of my life. The pictures are fantastic on the website, but they couldn't even do the property justice - as it's very hard to quite capture the beauty and privacy afforded by a true 1200-acre property. We spent the weekend playing kickball in the giant field, sitting poolside in the hot-tub, and in the luxurious entertainment lodge. Staying in Riverview felt like we were in a private mansion, decorated with some truly incredible artifacts from the personal life of the property owner Gale Brophy, a former Kentucky Derby winner, among other accolades. The house and property was so incredible that our group did not leave the property the entire weekend. Gale and Kristen were great and were incredibly quick, open, and honest about any questions big or small that I had - no matter what time of day I asked. They aren't lying when they say they're 24/7. The property was exactly as advertised if not better. We easily could have fit a group of 32, maybe more. The property is just that big. Mine was a bachelor party, but the property works for any large group looking to just get away for the weekend and avoid the traffic, flights, and annoying expenses that come with the usual destinations like the Hamptons, Vegas, Miami, or New Orleans. I would 100% refer this to anyone I know looking to get away with a big group. Thanks so much Gale for a weekend my friends and I will never forget!

We recently stayed at Riverside Estates for a 50th Anniversary/Family Reunion! It was a great location for a large, noisy, fun family such as ours! Gale was a great hostess, checked on us several times to make sure everything was going great - which it was! Our family of 28 (14 adults, 8 grandchildren over age 12 and 6 grandchildren under age 12) has a family reunion every two years and are always looking for new places to go to. There were many amenities such as fire pits behind each of the three buildings, hot tub, dry sauna and exercise machines in the main house; pool table and fully-equipped kitchen with tables for all of us to sit down together in the entertainment lodge; and a quiet guesthouse with three bedrooms and a full kitchen area and sitting room. There were big screen TV's in each of the houses, two hiking trails adjacent to the property and outdoor porches and terraces behind each of the buildings. We were treated to fireworks on the 4th of July and did not have to move from the resort to see them!

A unique and different type of resort with beautiful ground and excellent service. It is excellent for large groups as it has a nice amount of absolutely wonderful, very nicely furnished rooms! Our group consisted of 50 people. The staff was great, Gail was wonderful and made our stay much more interesting than expected. We absolutely loved every minute of our stay. Last but not least, thank you Gail for the delicious organic, free range eggs.

I organized my brothers bachelor party for here and couldn't be happier with the decision. We had 20 guys and made full use of the amazing property and surrounding area. The houses were beautiful. The activity lodge was perfect. The owner really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. We will be returning.

I organized a late spring college reunion for eight couples and to a man and woman, we all loved Riverview and would go back. The grounds are gorgeous, the hot tub and entertainment lodge looked and worked, just as advertised and we all went hiking on a great trail, right on the property. Unlike many properties that offer many bedrooms, each room was spacious and noone felt like they were drawing the last straw. Last, the owner, Gale and her staff, were super attendant and genuinely wanted us to just have a great time. I will definitely come back.

My family was looking for a place to hold our annual family reunion weekend and after having more than a few not-so-fun experiences with my Aunt doing the planning; I knew I had to take the reins this year. We have a large family with ages ranging from the grandparents to my brother’s newest little addition and everything in between and I thought the task of finding a place that we would all enjoy would be close to impossible. That’s when I stumbled upon Riverview Estate. First off, this place is HUGE! With three separate homes on the property everyone was able to get exactly what they needed in regards to sleeping arrangements. The grandparents (my parents) and other older guests enjoyed the privacy and seclusion of the ‘couples cabin’ while the grandkids and cousins loved hanging out in the ‘entertainment lodge’. The pool is beautiful and would be perfect for swimming in the warm weather. There’s a hot tub AND a sauna room in the main house that was perfect for relaxing during the weekend. There are nature trails encircling the property that we checked out and even a path that leads down a river—so beautiful! All in all, the weekend was wonderful. This property has something for everyone so whether you’re a big family or a group of friends, you’re sure to enjoy your stay here. The ground staff and management team are wonderful and very easy to work with. I thought this was going to be a huge headache to plan but it turned out to be a huge success! We will definitely be back again soon!

The first word that comes to mind when you get to Riverview Estate is WOW!!!! We rented this property for a long weekend getaway to celebrate our daughter's Sweet 16. We had a total of 18 family members ranging in age 6 months to 78 yrs. We had use of the main house and the entertainment lodge. These two houses were just amazing! The pictures on the website really do not do the place justice. After reading all the reviews, we had very high expectations of what the property would be like. When we got there we were literally blown away. The place is just spectacular. Everything was spotless, the entire staff is so wonderful and helpful. The response time to any questions we had was VERY quick. We all congregated in the entertainment lodge which easily accommodated all of us for our meals. The kitchen is fully stocked and even had two dishwashers! The weather was not ideal during our stay but that was ok because there were plenty of indoor activities to keep us all busy. The pool table, the sauna, the hot tub, etc. When there were breaks in the weather, we thoroughly enjoyed hiking up the mountain, hanging out at the river and sitting around the firepit. The views were fantastic. We even had the pleasure of meeting Gale. She is just absolutely wonderful and a pleasure to work with. We are hoping to come back again so that we can enjoy all that Riverview Estate has to offer. Our whole family had the most wonderful time. We will definitely recommend this property to family and friends.

Every year, a group of friends and family go away and on MLK Weekend we chose RiverView Estate by Brophy. The property consisted of three separate houses all on the same property and was absolutely fantastic. Each one was neat, clean, had multiple bedrooms/beds, kitchens etc. It accommodated our group of 11 families consisting of 30 people. The views were fantastic, it provided a large comfortable area for our group to relax and catch up for a fun weekend. The houses had fireplaces, a gym, jacuzzi, TV and other amenities. The employees/owner checked in with us frequently as the weather was bad one night, and someone was available for us 24/7. The kids hiked and went sleigh riding and adults had a perfect setting to just relax and enjoy time together. I highly recommend this property for a quiet weekend getaway.
